My latest gallery is a bit of a departure from my previous ones.  While others display what I consider some of my best images under a particular heading, the new one sets out more of a pictorial description of a physical location.  The location is Island Heights, the town were I live. I have included an assortment of images from different locations in town and during different seasons.  For those of you who do no not know it, Island Heights is a relatively unknown community of about 1,700 people on the Toms River, full of genuine Victorian houses and architecture. (For more on its history, see http://www.islandheightsboro.com/history1.htm.)  It is also a noted hub for small boat recreational sailing and racing for children and adults. Of course, because it is an island (mostly when there are extreme high tides or severe storms, such as Sandy), it is also a superb location for sunrise and sunset photographs, among my specialties.  I believe that all of these characteristics are reflected in the gallery. Of course, this is a personal and admittedly idiosyncratic view of the town--there are some images not included. I have not, for example, included many images of people, though it is a fairly tight-knit community of individuals, many with roots going back to the town's founding in the late 1870s.  Still, the images that are here highlight my strongest interests--water, sailing, and the play of light on different locations and at different times of the day.  I hope you enjoy viewing it as much as I enjoyed assembling it.
