Yes, the cursed Pandemic has re-intensified with malignant force, What's to do, except practice safety measures, hunker down, and look forward to the middle of next year when chances are it will be almost done.
For a photographer, there is always things to do when shooting outside is hazardous. Sorting photos, culling, picking out a few gems are always good options. I've done some of that, but it gets old quick, at least for me. What I have decided to do instead is to invest in an additional web presence. In addition to being on Zenfolio, I now have a page and site of Fine Art America (FAA). No complaints about Zenfolio--its just that FAA organizes your work by topic and category in addition to by artist, so there are more opportunities to get in front of more eyeballs and perhaps make a sale--that's the theory anyway. So, for fun head over the Fine Art America and check out my stuff. So far, so good there.
I have also been busy in the looking forward to better times department. I have been designated as one of the "official" photographers for the Barnegat Bay Yacht Racing Association (BBYRA) for 2021. As such I will go out every Saturday in the summer and shoot all or 1/2 of the races--there will be another photographer with whom to split the duties. This should be fun because I have kinda done this for years. Now I am going to get paid for it! Cool Beans! My pictures will be featured on the BBYRA website and I get to keep the copyright--so I am free to sell anything I like--not a bad deal.
As a preview to this I have created a new website here called "BBYRA 2020." It contains photos from every class who sailed this past condensed season. Come the summer of 2021, I plan to offer here the photos I send to the BBYRA site, so it will be easy for anyone who sees one and wants to purchase it to do so. Anyway, stop by and get a preview and maybe get a nice holiday gift for the sailor in your life!
