A New Adventure...!

Although this blog is largely about photography, and my photography in particular, permit me to be personal for a second. Today, August 1, 2018, I begin my life as a retiree. I have completed 33 and 2/3 years as a public employee. I have been given a lot of advice as to what to do in retirement, but I think the best thing i have heard is that I should think of it as the start of a new adventure. I certainly plan to approach it that way. I have been on 'vacation' for the last month, and if the rest of my life is the same as it has been the last month, I will be very busy, with more travel, a little golf, lunch out, get togethers with friends, sailing, time on the water, and lots and lots of photography. Although my 'regular' job is over, I plan to give more attention to my photography, including this website. so stay tuned for changes. I will also be doing more shows, so there will be more opportunities to see my work. Details on that will be forthcoming. I really do believe that we need to make the most of the life we have--tomorrow is not a sure thing--and I plan to spend a lot of that time behind the lens of my camera!! Wish me luck!!
