Busy, busy, busy....crazy busy!!!

August may be the dog days of summer, the time of year when "the living is easy" for some, but for me it is busy, busy, busy! From now until mid-September, I am participating in some type of photography exhibit almost every week--be it a street fair, a fashion show, or a high-end gallery show. I am not complaining--I'm just glad that things are not busy at my regular 9-5 job at the same time!

This week, on Thursday, August 4th, to be precise, I will be at the August Downtown Art Stroll, which takes place in downtown Toms River, between 5 and 8 pm. The stroll is held on the first Thursday of the month in the heart of Toms River on Washington and Main streets. This will be the first one I will be able to attend. There will be about 40 other visual artists, plus, musicians, poetry readings, and more, and the local merchants will be offering discounts and open houses. If you are in the area, you should come by and check things out.  It is never too early to start shopping for the holidays!

The next big public event I will be participating in will be TRAC's annual "Art in the Park" exhibit. It will also be in Toms River, this time adjacent to the county courthouse parking lot. It will be on Saturday, August 20th, from 10 to 4 pm and it will feature about 50 visual artists, poetry readings, musical performances, and food trucks. I have participated in this event before and it is a great time for the whole family. This year there will be a competition for the visual artists, with prizes. It would be nice if I won! Even if I do not, I am still a winner as one of my pictures was selected as the backdrop for the official notice and poster. If you come by my booth (look for the "Frank Parisi Photography" tent and banner), I will gladly autograph a copy of the poster.

I will have more information to share with you about my other exhibits as the dates come closer. Meantime, I hope to see you soon at one of the events in Toms River!
